Pet Policy

Why don't we accept pets?

We are sorry, as much as we love our own pets, we don’t allow them in our bungalows.

Danger to sea turtle nest and nesting birds
Pet noise/mess/damage/general disturbance

We are a very small resort with close quarters and bungalows in the sand.  Anna Maria Island’s main beaches are not open to pets and more specifically to dogs. This includes the majority of the western coastline of the island where we are located.

Where can I take my pets?
If you are seeking accommodations that are pet friendly, we suggest calling the AMI Chamber of Commerce for available properties.

Local dog friendly parks:
The Palma Sola Causeway
Joan Durante Park
Holmes Beach Dog Park
Happy Trails Dog Park

What about service animals?

We welcome true service animals!

How do I know if my dog qualifies as a service animal?

1. Is the dog a service animal required because of a disability? If the answer is no, you do not have a service dog.

2. What work or task has the dog been trained to perform? If your dog has not been trained to perform a task or specific work, then your dog does not qualify as a service dog.

In addition, emotional support, therapy, comfort or companion animals are not considered service dogs under the ADA. This includes anxiety attacks unless the dog is trained to perform a specific task in response to such an event.

Service dogs must be under a handlers control at all times and cannot be left un-attended. If a service animal is out of control and the handler does not take effective action to control it, staff may request that the animal be removed from the premises.

As a final note, please do not attempt to abuse the very legitimate need of a very small segment of the population as a way to bring your pet with you on vacation. When it becomes clear that a dog is not a service animal we will ask that it be removed and charge a $250 Clean-up Fee.
