Bungalow
Beach Resort is In The News!
- September 1999 - Bungalow Beach Resort has New Owners
Anna Maria Island's premier bungalow resort- the Bungalow Beach
Resort- is now under the capable management of new owners Bert and
Gayle Luper. The Lupers, both long-time residents of Manatee and
Sarasota counties, have already invested nearly $30,000 in renovations
for the property, including new paint, wallpaper, floor coverings
and linens.
"We love it out here on the island," said Gayle Luper. "Owning this
resort is a dream come true for us. It's such a beautiful piece
of property, and we meet nice people who come to stay."
The Luper's assumed ownership of the Bungalow Beach Resort is early
September. The resort was rated as the island's finest by Superior
Small Lodging last year and has favorably reviewed by travel editors,
including the Miami Herald.
Bungalow Beach Resort was originally built in the 1930's and still
retains the classic charm of the by gone era today with its unique
architectural character. Each private bungalow is nested among palm
trees, sand dunes and sea oats and offers decks or screened patios
with the breathtaking view of the Gulf of Mexico. The lushly landscaped
grounds include two heated pools and a cabana area for private entertaining.
Rooms are comfortably appointed in a fresh clean white and beige
pallet with select floral and wicker accents to compliment the island
atmosphere. Skylights, cathedral wood-beamed ceilings, hardwood
floors and French doors add to the charming decor.
